Carlos Neira Núñez, Founding member of the Alianza Peruana de Sommeliers – ALIPS.

Carlos is a Sommelier and Ambassador for the Responsible Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages in Peru.

Carlos worked as Brand Ambassador for Diageo Peru for seven years. He managed to develop the concept of local cocktail culture consistent with Peru’s famed cuisine.

Carlos participated in the creation of a multisensory experience using Zacapa rum in Astrid & Gastón, the only event in the country that consists of an eight-course dinner with luxury cocktails that transports you to Guatemala and the magic of rum.

Carlos has worked as sommelier at Lima’s prestigious Astrid y Gastón restaurant, as a supervisor at the JW Marriott luxury hotel chain in Lima and Saint Kitts and Nevis, and at the luxury properties of Orient-Express (currently Belmond) in Lima and Cancun.

Carlos currently works as a professor of the Beverage Service and Pairing course at Peru’s Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola and the Food and Beverage Management course at Peru’s PUCP: Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He also has a Master’s Degree in University Education.

Carlos considers himself fortunate to work in the hospitality industry and is the father of a beautiful 10-year-old girl named Sofia.

His passion is HIIT training, and he is preparing for the next editions of Lima 42K.
