Lucero Villagarcía, Founding Member of the Alianza Peruana de Sommeliers – ALIPS.
Lucero is a sommelière and specialist in Pisco. She graduated with a Diploma in «Management of Pisco Production for Export», ADEX Educación Continua ADEX’s Comitee for Pisco from 03 September to 26 November 2021. She also graduated with a Diploma in «Management of International Wine Tourism», from both the Universidad Juan Agustín Maza de Mendoza and the Universidad San Juan Bautista de Ica, August to December 2020.
Lucero is a professor at the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, at the Instituto de Alta Cocina D’Gallia, and the Instituto ANDES.
She was previously a professor at the Universidad del Pacifico, Universidad de Piura, and the Escuela de Cocina Pachacútec.
She is author of the book El pisco en su terruño of the La Mágia del Pisco Association, awarded by the Gourmand Awards and Hallbars Awards as one of the best books about spirits of the world in the «Special Awards» category, in the event that took place In Umeå, Sweden, on 03 June 2022.
She is author of La Guía del Pisco of the Asociación La Magia del Pisco, recognized by Gourmand Awards as «The Best Book About the Spirits of Peru 2018», as well as «The Best Book About Spirits of the World 2018», in the event which took place in Macao, China 03 July 2019. In addition, this book was awarded as one of the best books about spirits of the world in the Gourmand the Best of the Best 1995-2020, in the event that took place in Paris, France in November 2021.
She is author of the book La Magia del Pisco from the Editorial Fund of the Universidad San Martín de Porres. Recognized by the Gourmand Awards as «Best Spirits Book in Peru 2014», as well as «World’s Second Best Spirits Book 2014» at the event held in Yantai, China, on 08 July 2015.
She is a Pisco educator through classes, keynote talks, conferences and Pisco tastings in Peru and in the following countries: Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, China, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, Sweden, The United Kingdom, The United States, and Uruguay.
She was Director of Tastings for the Guía Pisco Perú 2012-2013, produced by Mixmade.
She is founder and president of the Asociación La Magia del Pisco since August 2012.
She is a columnist in the magazine Cocktail.
She has been a speaker for eight consecutive years at Expoalimentaria, an event organized by the Asociación de Exportadores – ADEX.
She was president of the Asociación Peruana de Sommeliers – APSOM from May 2015 to December 2017; as well as President of the Best Sommelier of Peru Competition 2018, which took place 1 – 2 February 2018, organized by the Asociación Peruana de Sommeliers – APSOM.
She received the Miradas Award as «The Ambassador of Pisco», by the Corporación Latina de Comunicaciones, 9 February 2018.
Lucero received special recognition by the Municipality of Miraflores (Lima, Peru) as «Outstanding Professional» on International Women’s Day 2018.
She led the «Largest Pisco Tasting in the World» as recognized by Guinness World Records, organized by USIL and the Gobierno Regional de Ica, 28 April 2019.
Lucero was a member of the panel of international judges of “International Awards Virtus 2021” which took place 12 – 14 June, Lisbon, Portugal”.
